FUND-RAISING TIME for Special Olympics Forsyth!

Raffle ticket sales – each Athlete is expected to sell a minimum of 20 tickets to help fund our Program.  Tickets will be provided to all Athletes.

CLASSIC CELEBRATION

Saturday, July 29th | 6- 9 pm

Join us at Polo Golf & Country Club for a fun celebration benefiting the
2017 Charity Classic.This will be an evening of live music, great food with themed
action stations and a wonderful silent auction. Mix and mingle with friends old and new
as we support Augie’s Quest, Special Olympics Forsyth County and
the Employee Partner Care Foundation.

$25 per person – Celebration & Silent Auction

2017 Masters Bowling – Ages 22+

  • August 18, 19 and 20th in Warner Robins, GA
  • Practice Schedule

o    Saturday, June 3rd – August 12th

  • Practice Location:

o   Stars and Strikes, Cumming

  • Practice Times:

o   9:00am to 11am

 

2017 Fall Games

  • October 13, 14 and 15 in Gainesville, GA
  • Sports offered:

o   Bocce

o   Equestrian (Horse Show)

o   Golf

o   Softball

o   Softball Skills

  • Practice Schedules (Official start dates have not been confirmed but should begin in August. More info coming):

o   Bocce:  Thursday nights @ Central Park

o   Equestrian:  Tuesday or Wednesday @ Barefoot Ranch

o   Golf:  Wednesday nights @ 6:15pm-7:15pm

o   Softball:  Monday nights @ 6:00pm – 7:30pm

o   Softball Skills:  Thursday nights – Coal Mountain Park (Be advised that the location might change) (6:30pm-7:30pm)

  • Special Olympics Forsyth will do their best to accommodate your 1st sport request.

o   In some cases – “try-outs” will be required to place an Athlete on a team based on safety, age, game awareness & availability.

o   Equestrian has limited availability.  Returning Athletes who are enrolled and participated in previous year Games have first choice.

*Required Athlete Participation Forms

o    As a reminder, all athletes must be up to date on their participation/medical forms.

o   The list of athletes who are current on their forms can be found on the website at www.soforsth.com.

o   For initial eligibility, the form must be signed by a parent and doctor.  Every 3 years, the forms must be renewed prior to the expiration date.   To renew, you must first identify the status of the athlete.  If the form expires, then the athlete must complete the form with a parent signature and doctor signature again (there are new state required forms this year so please be sure to use the 2016 forms – see attached).

o   Please check the athlete list provided on the www.soforsyth.com website.  Athletes not listed do not have an eligibility form on file or the form has expired (the athlete is unable to practice or compete without this form).

o    For questions, please contact Charlene Northcutt at cnorthcutt@forsyth.k12.ga.us.  Please note the posted list may not include forms submitted within 30 days of this email blast.  A copy of the participation form is attached to this email.  Once the form is completed, please fax to Charlene Northcutt at 770-888-1278 or send directly to the SOGA office.
