Bowling – Individual, Ramp (Assisted/Non-Assisted), Wheelchair Accessible
Bowling is an indoor recreational activity in which Athletes ‘Roll’ a Bowling Ball down the Lane toward target Pins with the objective of knocking down as many Pins as possible per Frame. The Lane is 41.5 inches wide and 60 feet long from the Foul Line to the center of the Headpin and it may have a wood or synthetic surface. Each game consists of ten Frames in which Athletes will Roll once or twice in each of the first nine Frames and a maximum of three times in the tenth Frame of each Game. Competitions consist of three Game Sets, so it is important our Athletes build their stamina up during the Practices in order to compete successfully at the Competitions.
Competitions use League Style Bowling as opposed to the typical Recreational Style of Bowling. League Style Bowling uses Lane Pairs rather than a Single Lane, alternating Lanes for each Frame.
Although we can send Teams (four Athletes, Traditional or Unified) to the Competition, Bowling is an Individual Sport and as such, coaching is not allowed during the actual Competition.
Scores are kept for each Athlete throughout the Practice Season in order to submit valid Averages for use in setting the Divisions used at Competition.
The Athletes should be able to:
